Frida Kahlo’s flowers did not die. She preserved them in rich oils on canvas giving them a luminous and long afterlife.
The finely embroidered kimono that I am wearing also captures the beauty of flowers with silk like threads. They wind there curling tendrils and blossoms along the edges of this piece. Clearly, someone was inspired by the spirit of Frida Kahlo when they designed this fringed kimono with trails of embroidered flowers.
