Today’s outfit features button and bow details. The four buttons on the bell-shaped vest rest under the ruffle of the blouse. The ruffle of the blouse was gathered in a bow and secured with an elastic band. Under the four buttons of the vest, a wide perforated belt is cinched. The vest buttons are designed to close high under the chest. This creates an Empire Waist-like silhouette. Adding the belt helps to amplify the bell shape of the vest. This black bell-shaped vest has large kangaroo pockets and its edges are finished in a berry color trim.
The jumpsuit I am wearing underneath the vest is in the same berry color as the trim edging of the vest. I found this jumpsuit in a little boutique in Naples last November. I loved the cranberry color and knew it would be a staple in my wardrobe. The vest was found at the One-of-a-Kind show in Chicago last year, but I had to order it from the seller and have it sent to me as they did not have my size. It is from a Canadian designer, Annie Thompson. The blouse was purchased not to long ago at Zara. I have on black leather pirate boots I found at a resale shop. They are fabulous and have walked all over the world with me on my travels.
The black perforated and brass studded belt is from Marni. I found it at the online consignment site, The RealReal. Black vintage Bakelite bangles and jet black dangle earrings finish this look.
