A Tête-à-Tête of Muses: Take Two

After the little tête-à-tête between my muses the other day, I was able to create several outfits.  Here is another favorite ‘compromise”  that came forward from this friendly fray.

The long kimono dress I found several months ago at Zara has been re-styled more towards a tunic look.  I have put these over a wide leg pair of soft white tuxedo pants from designer Doo-ri.  I purchased these pants in September of 2011 from Shopbop.  They were heavily discounted as they were introduced  in the Spring Collection earlier that year.  At the time, the low waist/rise was very popular.  The waist is not as low as some of the more trendy pieces of that time, but I still prefer to wear pants with a lower waist with longer tops/sweaters/tunics.  They are so beautifully made and I do love wide leg pants.

The black butterfly scarf, featured in my post the other day, is being featured in this outfit as well.  The jewelry also remains the same.  I wore these outfits to different occasions and the French Bulldog ring from Shein was a big hit with everyone.  The ladies, both young and old, all tried it on.  When I told them it was only 3.99 USD…they took out their pens from their handbags and took the paper napkins from under their drinks to write down SHEIN….FRENCH BULLDOG RING.  In a fit of self-promotion, I suggested they check out my blog and that would give them a direct link.  All except a few of the younger ladies said, “blog”  what is that…  Oh dear!

  1. I’m in love with the kimono dress, specially the way you masterfully style it. To think that up to recently I did not care for fashion at all. Boy was I missing out!

    1. It is fun. I have slowly added a few high-end pieces over the years. I wait for them to hit at about 70% off at the end of the season. I fill it out with consignment finds…check out The RealReal. I also, fill out with pieces from Zara and Anthropologie….which always have amazing kimonos. Thank you, Dharma. I love reading your comments and really appreciate your feedback!
